Appalachian Culinary Experience
A series of foraging-cooking-dining experiences, offered the last Saturday of each month. Guests arrive at 2:00 pm for a welcoming beverage followed by a meandering wander through fields and woodland on a 200+ acre farm, finishing up in the kitchen and then around the table for a multi-course, wine-paired celebration, with a finale of stories and song.
Foraging
Take a hike through mountain woodlands and discover their seasonal abundance which will range from spring ramps to summer branch lettuce, to fall chestnuts.
Add to the basket carefully tended crops fresh from the field or in winter storage of the can house pantry.
Cooking
Go from harvest to feast learning tips for efficiency in the kitchen and bringing out the flavor of the ingredients.
Dining
Finish around the table to nourish the body with the prepared harvest, stories, and song.
